The Bronte School House
Stay in the very same school house attended by Charlotte and Emily Bronte

Bronte School House is a Grad II listed self-catering holiday cottage in Cowan Bridge on the south-westerly edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Dating back to 1770, it was formerly known as the Clergy Daughters' School attended by Charlotte and Emily Brontë (inspiration for Lowood in Jane Eyre). The property has been sympathetically restored using traditional techniques and materials and retains a wealth of character and charm.
Inside you will find snowy-white lime-washed walls, original floorboards and beams, exposed stone walls and window seats. Modern comforts include pocket sprung mattresses, crisp white bed linen; bathroom with freestanding shower, separate clawfoot bath, towels provided; and a well equipped kitchen. You can relax in the large cottage garden, visit lovely Kirkby Lonsdale, full of coffee shops, great restaurants and small independent shops, picnic by Devils Bridge on the River Lune, visit Ingleton and take the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail.
