Explore the wildlife and ancient history of Fylingdales Moor. The Fylingdales Moor Conservation Area covers about 6,800 acres (2,750 ha) of moorland in the North York Moors National Park. A former grouse moor, it is now managed by the Hawk and Owl Trust to enhance wildlife, preserve archaeological remains and demonstrate the environmental benefit and sustainability of traditional moorland management techniques.

Free guided wildlife walks are available on Fylingdales Moor from March-October, led by the Hawk and Owl Trust Education Officer. Minimum group size of 6 participants, all ages are welcome. Walks are adapted to suit the interests of the group. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays are preferable walk days.

During the summer extra public walks are also on offer, led by wildlife/ archaeological experts to help you discover even more about the area. The best places to find the wildlife, plants and insects that are such a feature of this wild open area at particular times of year will be revealed, as well as what lies beneath!
