Talbot Hotel Malton

An 18th century hotel that helped put Malton on the map as a food destination

Picture
The Talbot exemplifies all that is lovely about staying in a country house hotel.

In a prominent position in the historic market town of Malton, the hotel provides 26 individually furnished bedrooms, drawing room and bar, extensive landscaped grounds and two restaurants - the Wentworth Restaurant and Malton Brasserie.

The hotel has a passion for serving great food and has been instrumental in putting Malton on the map as one of Yorkshire’s prime foodie destinations, including establishing the Malton Cookery School.

The kitchen is in the hands of head chef Dan Graham who has worked under top chefs including Michel Roux at Le Gavroche. The Wentworth Restaurant offers contemporary British cooking with a fine dining menu in the evenings and a Sunday lunch menu, while the Malton Brasserie is open daily for lunch and dinner offering brasserie classics and a daily specials board.

Rated four-star, with two rosettes. Awarded Best Small Hotel in the 2014/15 White Rose Awards and listed 3rd in the Best Good Shoot Hotel Guide. The hotel holds a Certificate of Excellence on Trip Advisor.
